COVID-19 update as 7 March 2021

The Government has announced we are at COVID-19 Alert Level 1.

Kerbside recycling and rubbish collections are continuing as normal, as are the recycling drop-off facilities.

Recycling which normally goes to Southland disAbility Enterprises will continue to, as they are open with additional safety measures in place.  Please ensure your recycling is clean before placing in your recycling bin.

Council Transfer Stations are open as normal and will operate their Level 1 safe working practices with QR codes for contact tracing.  We are not limiting customer numbers however we do encourage maintaining social distancing and good hygiene practices.

What using the Councils Transfer Stations will look like under Alert Level 1

  • QR codes will be displayed.
  • Fees still apply.  Contactless payments is the preferred payment method i.e. card or account payments.
  • Encourage good hygiene practices.
