Did you know ... According to Wikipedia, toothbrushes make up 50 million pounds of plastic discarded in landfill per year in the USA.

An alternative to the traditional toothbrush is an electric toothbrush.  An electric toothbrush is more expensive then a normal toothbrush, but it will reduce the amount of waste to landfill - as an electric toothbrush has replacable brushheads and can run on rechargeable batteries.

Old toothbrushese can be reused for cleaning and/or scrubbing in small and hard to reach places i.e. dirt trapped in soles of your shoes, cleaning your bike chain.

If you cannot reuse your toothbrush, the next best practical option is disposal to landfill through your local refuse service.
