Invercargill City Council does not provide kerbside recycling or refuse collections in this area. Council does provide a 24-7 recycle drop off centre and operates Waste Transfer Stations in Invercargill and Bluff.

Refuse Collection

Council does not provide kerbside recycling or refuse collection services in this area. You can take your recycling to the recycle drop off centre (free) and take your rubbish to the nearest transfer station.  Or check the yellow pages under "Waste Disposal" and "Recycling" for private contractors that offer kerbside rubbish collection services.

 

Recycle Drop off Centre

The Recycle drop-off Centre is for the disposal of bulk loads of household recyclables. The Centre is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and is operated by Southland disAbilities Enterprises Incorporate.  Free service.

 

Waste Transfer Station

Council operates two Waste Transfer Stations located in Invercargill and Bluff.  The Invercargill Waste Transfer Station is for the disposal of bulk loads of waste (rubbish), greenwaste (garden waste), typres, scrap metal and hazardous chemicals (in smallquantities).  Fees apply.

The Garage Reuse Shop

The Garage Reuse Shop is for the disposal and purchase of 'pre-loved' goods for example: furniture, sports equipment, appliances, whiteware, electronics, clothing, brick-a-brac (Knick-Knacks) and other treaures.  The Garage is operated by Karl and Bev Hall on Councils behalf.
