New Recycling and Rubbish Service
Gore District Council is changing the way it collects our recycling and rubbish. From 2 July 2012, recycling will be collected every fortnight and rubbish will be collected every alternative fortnight using wheelie bins.
If you live in Gore or Mataura township, you will recieve two new wheelie bins in June 2012. Full details of this service, including details of the improved recycling service for all residents, will be finalised in the coming months.
Gore's new recycling and rubbish service will mean changes to our current arrangements for rubbish collection. If you live in Mataura or Gore township it will impact on you.
The new kerbside recycling and rubbish bin service will provide Gore District residents with a 240 litre yellow wheelie bin for the collection of recycling. The yellow recycle bin will accept a larger range of clean plastic products (bags, containers and bottles) for recycling along with paper, cardboard, tin/steel/aluminium cans, white polystyrene, glass bottles and jars. And will be emptied every fortnight.
Council is replacing the Council orange rubbish bag with a new red wheelie bin. The new red rubbish bin will be emptied every fortnight. Find out what you can and CANNOT put in the red bin.
Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about how the new kerbside recycling and rubbish collection service affects you. The FAQ will be updated as the Council develops the detail of the new service.
