Directions
Starting on Diana Street. Head south on Diana Street toward Tauna Street. Continue onto Lumsden Dipton Highway. Turn right at Lanark Street. Take the first left onto Oxford Street. The Transfer Station and Recycle Centre is on the left.

- Paper (newspaper, magazines, junkmail, books, mail, envelopes, cards)
- Cardboard (boxes, packaging, cereal boxes)
- Aluminium cans
- Tin and Steel cans
- Plastic - types 1 and 2 (milk bottles, soft drink bottles, bathroom and laundry containers)
- Glass bottles and jars
Materials Not Accepted
- Clothing
- Plastics - types 3 to 7
- Window glass
- Dirty paper and cardboard
These materials are accepted at the Transfer Station.

Hours
The Lumsden Transfer Station is open Thursday from 4pm to 5:30pm and Sunday from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. The Station is closed on the following public holidays - Good Friday, Easter Sunday, New Year's Day and ANZAC morning.
Using the Facility
Customers will be met by the Attendant, who will accept payment (where applicable) and direct customers where to dispose of their rubbish. Payment is by eftpos or "token". Please note the site does not have cash handling facilities.

- Reusable Items - there is a "second-chance" shed on site where second hand goods can be left for others to use
- Garden waste
- Scrap metal
- Hazardous waste (limited storage capacity)
- Recyclables - disposal is through the recycle centre at the gate.
Materials Not Accepted
- Loads over 3 tonnes gross weight will not be accepted without prior written approval from Southland District Council.
- Liquid waste
