Food Lovers Masterclass with Kate Meads

The Food Lovers Masterclass with Kate Meads workshop is a humorous, engaging and entertaining learning experience full of cost effective ways you can reduce your food waste at home and ultimately save money on your grocery bill.

Every year the average Murihiku whanau (Southland family) throws away up to $563 worth of food and drink.  Some of this is made up of things like peelings, cores and bones, but the majority is, or once waste, perfectly good food.  The food we throw away is a huge waste of energy, water and packaging used in its production, transportation and storage.

Kate will teach you about the first-in first-out method, meal planning tips, the difference between "use by" and "best before" and when all else fails the last resort options.

Who should attend?

The workshop is suitable for all ages - if you are just learning to cook, moved into a student flat, are a young family, or an experienced cook wanting to learn something new.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before the workshop starts, as this allows us to check you in and start promptly.
